~ To study the effect of concentration on the rate of reaction between sodium thiosulphate and hydrochloric acid.

Question

Q1.Define rate of reaction.

the change in the concentration of any one of the reactants Per unit time.

Q2.Mention the factors affecting the rate of reaction.

Following factors affect the rate of chemical reaction:

1. Reactant concentration

2. Reaction temperature

3. Nature of reactant and product

4. Surface area

5. Presence of catalyst

Q3. Write the name of law for the study of effect of concentration on the rate of reaction.

Rate Law differential Rate Law expresses the reaction rate in term of change in concentration of reactants per unit specific time interval.

Q4.Explain the nature of the graph of 1/t against concentration of Na2S2O3 solution.

The graph formed is a straight sloping line which means that as concentration of Na2S2O3 solution increases the rate of reaction increases. i.e 1/t is directly proportional to conc. of Na2S2O3 solution.

Q5. Why rate of reaction is fastest, if distilled water is not added to 50 mL (i.e D flask) 0.1 M

Because of the increase in number of molecule the number of collagen also increases as a result the rate of reaction increases
